Audio Help and FAQs 1. What do I need to listen to FDliveNY on theBravest.com? To listen you need: - Window's Media Player (WMP) v.6 or better. - Microsoft's Internet Explorer (IE), suggested, but other browsers work... - An internet connection.

2. I have all those things, why can't I listen?
-Check your internet firewall (usually bundled with your virus software), make sure your internet security level isn't set too high, and if need be enable port 8060 (check your firewall's vendor's instructions on how to do this). -Run your spyware detector and your virus scan, some spyware and viruses can interfere with your WMP.
3. The player loads and then just says 'Ready'?
-Try just pressing the play button on the embedded player itself. This sometimes happens, and is either a virus or a bug in the WMP software itself. -Try refreshing the page itself, with the Refresh button built into the IE browser. -Re-download or update your WMP. Click here.
4. Is theBravest.com really "LIVE"?
-Absolutely. Everything you hear on theBravest.com is LIVE as it happens. There may be a short delay due to encoding, decoding, and travel through the net, but at most 20-30 seconds behind LIVE. To confirm this, just listen to the dispatchers give the times. Remember, your listening to the East Coast of the United States, so times will be in East Coast time!
