What Brothers Do is the true story of two brothers: Patrick
Brown, a highly decorated and well-respected captain in the New
York fire Department; his younger brother Michael, a Las Vegas
emergency medicine physician. Immediately after the September 11
attacks on the World Trade Center, Mike—once a Harlem
firefighter—journey's back to his hometown and Ground Zero in a
desperate search for his brother. He clings to hope but in the
weeks that follow, Mike realizes that his focus must shift to
fulfilling his brother's last wishes.
But before he can honor Pat's instructions, Mike must work
through his anger and grief and overcome serious personal
challenges. Helping him through it all: the friends and
coworkers his brother left behind, as well as Brown family
members who reconnect with Mike to offer support. This "inner
circle" comes together and helps Mike see that though Pat is
gone, his spirit lives on in the city he so loved and in the
many lives he touched. But will the ties that now bind so
tightly to New York sever him from his wife, his career and his
life back home?
