Bloomberg's Biggest Scandal - The Deutsche Bank
Fire - Should Be His
Downfall. Why Isn't It?
One source involved with the probe at
Morgenthau's office said Doctoroff was "the guy pushing and pushing and pushing"
to get the project "moving forward," and that he "didn't bother himself with
the details.
Mike Bloomberg's worst
scandal cost two firefighters their lives. If we lived
in a media world in which facts and memories mattered,
the nonchalance at the highest levels of the Bloomberg
administration about the hazards and warnings at the
Deutsche Bank building, where Robert Beddia and Joseph
Graffagnino died on August 18, 2007, might cost him his
re-election. Even Bloomberg's Department of
Investigations (DOI)
found last month, in a
report barely noticed
by the press, that it was a case of death by official
dereliction>>> |

Fire In The Hole
When the
folks voted to install Mike
Bloomberg
as
their mayor-and did it a second
time-the prevailing wisdom was
that, owing to the mayor's vast
fortune, the public could count
on a corruption-free mayoralty.
What was not taken into
consideration, was the
Bloomberg
old
boys network that gave Dan
Doctoroff
and
the Related Companies to NYC. As
a result of this, we were able
to bear witness to a whole
series of sweetheart no-bid
deals that left the city less
well off than it should have
been>>> |

House Appropriates
$70 Million For WTC Medical
Program
The
House of Representatives today
appropriated $70 million to
maintain the World Trade Center
Medical Monitoring and Treatment
program. The money would support
a half-dozen clinics in the
metropolitan area, and others
around the country, for
diagnosing and treating people
with health problems related to
September 11th and its
aftermath. Passage of the
appropriation is also expected
in the Senate, but the timetable
is unclear>>> |

Failure To Rebuild Ground Zero:
The Right And Wrong Stuff
It is
hard not to see in the contrast
between the moon program and the
failure to rebuild Ground Zero a
warning about America’s national
will. In an earlier day, Robert
Moses or someone would have
found a way to break free of the
political Liliputians and get
something built to remove the
national scar at Ground Zero>>> |

Tactical Safety –
Officer to the Fire
By thehousewatch
| July 27, 2009
“Examining the
process of
firefighting to see
if
there is a better
and safer way to
operate”
The company officer
should locate the
fire from the
exterior if
possible. It can be
the responsibility
of the first officer
to arrive, the
engine or ladder
company officer or
both. Locating the
fire can be done on
the initial walk
around which is easy
as long as you do
it. The signs of
fire and its
intensity provide
clues to its
interior location.
Not all fire
buildings will allow
for a complete recon
and not all fires
show themselves.
Finding a hidden
fire is another
story, that’s why we
continue our survey
inside>>>
