A three-alarm fire
damaged three homes
in St. Albans and
sent some residents
to the hospital
Friday morning.
The blaze began
around 8:15 a.m. at
a home on 154th
Street and 119th
Avenue and quickly
escalated to
surrounding houses,
eyewitnesses said.
Roughly 140
firefighters
responded to the
scene and had the
fire under control
within an hour,
according to the
FDNY.
Five people were
sent to Jamaica
Hospital for various
injuries, according
to the authorities.
Three of the victims
suffered minor
injuries while the
others had more
serious conditions,
the FDNY said.
No firefighters were
hurt during the
blaze. The cause of
the fire was still
under investigation
as of Friday
afternoon.
