Kilduff
as
the
FDNY's
34th
Chief
of
Department
with
his
wife,
Kathy,
at
his
side.
Six
staff
chiefs
-
with
more
than
190
years
of
experience
-
were
promoted
during
a
ceremony
at
FDNY
Headquarters
on
Feb.
4,
including
the
official
swearing
in
of
Chief
of
Department
Edward
Kilduff.
“I
can
only
imagine
all
the
firefighters
who
have
benefitted
from
your
wealth
of
experience,”
said
Fire
Commissioner
Salvatore
Cassano.
“I
am
honored
to
be
promoting
men
of
this
caliber
today.”
Chief
Kilduff,
a
32-year
veteran
of
the
FDNY,
was
praised
for
his
dedication
and
exemplary
service.
“I
am
truly
honored
and
very
excited
for
this
opportunity,”
he
said.
The
promoted
members,
including
Chief
of
Training
Thomas
Galvin,
Chief
of
Fire
Prevention
Thomas
Jensen,
Chief
of
Safety
and
Inspectional
Services
Command
Stephen
Raynis,
Brooklyn
Borough
Commander
James
Leonard
and
Acting
Staten
Island
Borough
Commander
Michael
Marrone.
Chief
of
Training
Thomas
Galvin
and
Chief
of
Fire
Prevention
Thomas
Jensen
also
were
elevated
to a
four-star
designation
during
the
ceremony.
And
three
men
were
elevated
to
the
rank
of
Deputy
Assistant
Chief,
including
Stephen
Raynis,
who
will
now
serve
as
Chief
of
Safety
and
Inspectional
Services
Command;
James
Leonard,
who
will
replace
Chief
Kilduff
as
the
Brooklyn
Borough
Commander;
and
Michael
Marrone,
who
will
serve
as
Acting
Staten
Island
Borough
Commander.
“We
have
the
right
people
with
the
right
talent
and
enthusiasm
to
move
this
Department
forward,”
said
Chief
Kilduff.
