The husband of the
woman who died
trying to save her
kids from a Brooklyn
fire had an
emotional reunion
yesterday with the
residents who helped
rescue their
children.
"Forever they will
be in my heart,"
Miguel Chan said at
a Bensonhurst
church, where he met
some of those who
helped catch his
son, Jocias, 2, and
pick up the boy's
sister, Maria, 2
months, after they
were tossed out a
third-floor window
by their mom, Luisa
Ordoņez.
"I wouldn't have him
in my arms right
now," the dad said.
Chan's daughter
remains hospitalized
with a fractured
skull after the fire
that tore through
their 86th Street
Building on
Saturday.
Meanwhile, police
spokesman Paul
Browne said cops
were exploring
whether "personal
vendettas" played a
role in the
suspected arson, but
didn't elaborate.
Last night, police
said a man seen
walking outside the
building in a
surveillance video
aired by WCBS/Channel
2 was not being
labeled a suspect --
but they're looking
into who he is.
Also yesterday, the
Buildings Department
said it's
investigating
possible illegal
subdivisons at the
scene after issuing
two citations to the
landlord for his
building next door.
