CITY ISLAND, N.Y. - More than 100 firefighters battled a two-alarm

 fire inside a building on City Island in The Bronx on Monday morning. Eleven firefighters suffered minor injuries.

They were taken to Jacobi Medical Center.

The blaze at 415 City Island Avenue destroyed the first and second floors of the apartment building.

A store on the ground floor was also left in ruins. It's not clear what sparked the flames at around 6:40 a.m.

The flames were out by 8:13 a.m.
