Gently-Worn Fur Coat Sale On Staten Island To Benefit Charity
Staten Island Advance 2/20/09
Want to get a fur coat and kick a little money toward a good cause at the same time?
Staten Island Furrier is hosting its annual gently-worn fur coat sale today until 6 p.m., and tomorrow and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The sale will be held in St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, Richmond.
Nearly 500 gently worn furs -- priced from $200 to $2,500 -- will be on sale, and proceeds will benefit Project Hospitality and the Stephen Siller FDNY, "Let Us Do Good" Children's Foundation, named in honor of the brother of Furrier owner Frank Siller.
Stephen Siller was a firefighter who ran through the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel to aid at the World Trade Center on Sept. 11 only to perish while trying to save lives at Ground Zero.
Donated coats can be dropped off at Staten Island Furrier, 2361 Hylan Blvd., in New Dorp.
