2-Alarm Fire Extinguished On Staten Island's North Shore

A fire heavily damaged a commercial building at 1870 Richmond Terrace in Staten Island's West Brighton section early this morning.
The blaze, which quickly went to two alarms, broke out at 3:58 a.m. in the building which houses the automotive business Motorvations. It took nearly an hour before the fire was brought under control at 4:50 a.m., a Fire Department spokesman said.
No injuries were reported, he said.
A total of 25 FDNY units with 106 firefighters were on the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
