Flames Scorch E. Williamsburg Apartments

Several apartments and a garage in East Williamsburg were damaged during a one alarm fire that broke out last Wednesday morning, Jan. 28, it was reported. Fire Department sources said the blaze occurred at around 11:45 a.m. inside the two story building along Metropolitan Avenue between Olive Street and Orient Avenue. On the scene were members of Engine companies 206, 216, 221, 229 and 237; Ladder companies 104, 106, 108, 112 and 146; Squad Company 252; Rescue 2 and Battalions 28 and 35—under the direction of Division 11—along with the 90th Precinct and EMS units.
