Brush Fire at Staten Island Park

The New York City Fire Department is working to contain a large brush fire at Great Kills Park on Staten Island. More than 100 firefighters are at the scene; no injuries are reported. Great Kills Park is part of the Gateway National Recreation Area; the wildlife there includes an osprey nesting ground. The park also features nature trails, a boat launch, fishing areas and a model airplane field.
